I’m switching back from Ruby to Python out of necessity, and I loath things like len(my_list) vs my_list.len(). I just don’t understand why Python thinks it necessary to define global functions for something that naturally should exist as a

I’ve driven 15000 miles in the past year on my Model Y, a large part of it shuttling between the Bay Area and Reno, so mostly I-80. And many miles of autopilot. So for, not a single phantom break. So I wonder what it is that makes it not ha

The suspension arm of my colleague’s Tesla broke. He showed me the broken part. It was something that should never break. My other colleague’s Tesla had multiple major issues, including one that requires an engine to be replaced. They both

I’m subscribed to some CUDA email list with weekly updates. One thing that strikes me is how it evolves with new features. Not just higher level libraries, but also more fundamental, low level stuff, such as virtual memory, standard memory

I certainly can not taste the difference between any of them (and so do most others according to the article), but after Sideways there was definitely something in my subconscious that steered me away from ordering a Merlot. I don’t think i

I’ve done the roommating thing, and paid my dues living in small apartments. But at some point I wanted the comfort of a house with a garage, a hobby room, and a yard where the kids can run around. So, yeah, different expectations.

Finding a job that’s fun and fulling and finding one that is very well paid doesn’t have to be a contradiction. But there are multiple reasons why money is a bigger focus: - less long term job security. And that lower paid fulfilling job mi

You’re right of course. When I’m at a full stop in a never ending traffic jam on I-80, I’m totally a danger for not paying attention to the brake lights of the car in front also not moving.

Yeah, if I’m standing completely still in a traffic jam, I’ll be glancing at my phone every once in a while, and nobody is going to convince me that this guy is doing a public service.

Apply this to software, and everybody will be forced to pay the Office Pro price when they only need Office Home features. For a certain price, you can buy an Intel CPU with certain known features. For a higher price, you get more features.
