They’re saying that $100/mo out of pocket is unsustainable to keep it live. If they can at least offset the hosting cost they’ll leave it up and be able to show a recruiter. Otherwise they will have to only show pics and source code.

This is an incredible wtf article. It’s so absurd it has to be real, I don’t know how it could be made up.

The point of normalizing finger printing is that it has to be, well, normalized. To get the widest coverage you need to make it a default. Making it an option defeats the purpose - but alleviates the hate OP was talking about. It’s a no win

Lots of provocative blather that ignores something obvious - you can write your distilled opinion and add a source. For someone who, by reflection of your argument, knows so much about journalism, it is laughable that citing sources is so

I feel this. What I do now is increase the points of the PoC (real estimated PoC time + optimization). I get the PoC down asap then as soon as it’s proven (privately to myself) I move onto optimizing. If it fails then I communicate early to

This article serves no purpose. It describes an anecdotal relationship with a patient but with neither practical advice nor any closure. I thought my reader was blocked from loading more content but that truly was the entire article. 2/

What would prevent bots from using “approved” attester devices to navigate and scrape? Is attestation done by checking what local processes are running?

I’m not sure in C but in Python and JS the encapsulation can be at the module level rather than using a class. So you still get dot hunting by importing the module.

Do you have any examples from your experience about making that distinction? Sometimes I struggle with the boundary between good maintainable code and meeting deadlines.

This sounds fascinating. How do you make an internal monologue? Do you have any reading or samples to look at? Sorry for the ignorance, I’m a dev but not in the AI space.

I’ve always heard about the “util” package code smell but usually in complex contexts that are hard to discuss. How would you refactor this to avoid a util package or a UrlUtils class?
