This looks really interesting - I may have to shift around my Monday evening and check this out.

Agreed - I find getting email from Meetup focuses my attention on events I either wouldn't have seen or wouldn't have known to look for. If people are interested in setting up a Bay Area meetup sometime soon, we should look into creating a

Using Meetup.com is a great idea - is there a meetup group for HN users in the Bay Area?

This will be a response to this parent and the one that posed essentially the same point. I don't believe I referred to anything regarding the recent recession or who was to blame. My problem with the repeal of Glass-Steagall has more to do

#2 is crucial - Glass-Steagall should never have been repealed.

I'm assuming this is open to everyone? Or is it only open to people who received invites to Startup School?

That lists its source as this post, which lists its source as Wikipedia. Still uncorroborated in my mind.

CBS's mobile site is atrocious. Their online content is often riddled with poor grammar and typos as well. I consider CBS to be a premier journalistic institution, but their website makes them look like a high school newspaper. It's too bad

You can't submit a URL to HN twice - since the Steve Jobs tribute page had already been submitted, I'm assuming an arbitrary parameter was added to allow the URL to be reposted.

More fundamental than the argument being made in this article is the rate of change. I actually like Microsoft's Metro UI - I think it looks really good and makes a fair amount of design sense. I realize there are people who are with me and

Akamai's market cap is $4.3B, which means Google would have to drop at least that (but really much more) to acquire them. Something tells me Google's investors are going to go bananas (not in a good way) if this goes through, especially on

A compelling theory, but it would be totally unlike Apple to pull something like this. Why would Apple pollute the sublime, simple experience of using Siri with advertisements? It would be uncharacteristic - it's not like a company like App

Of course what spins in the rumor mill could possibly be indicative of what future iterations of the product could hold. It's a well-documented fact that Apple's product pipeline is planned out for at least the next five years. However, my
