I disagree - Javascript's issues are not just its lack of type safety. Even with Typescript you're dealing with the disastrous state of NPM/configuration/linters/formatters/libraries -- all of which are firmly

I remember looking into V last year, it seems most of the discussion surrounding it was that it was vaporware. Is that not the case? It certainly looks nice, but is it ready for use?

This may not be the message of the article but as a side-rant: I really don't understand the use-case for a Rust-based GUI. Rust's syntax, manual memory management, and compile times makes it seem like it's really not meant f

No one implements it the same way. Some require scopes, some don't. Some require comma-separated scopes, some want an array. Some require an HMAC signature, some don't. Some want a JSON body, some want a urlencoded form. Etc. Etc.

These are all valid points, personally I don't plan on touching these savings for a long time (nor do I really need to track it using apps like Mint/RocketMoney/etc), but if you do then the Apple Savings account really isn&#x

Yeah I'm honestly not worried about this at all. - I have far more faith in Apple's security model than a traditional bank's model. - I assume Goldman Sachs has a decent policy for fraud/hacks (though someone can fact-ch

Oh right I remember now - I guess the point I'd make about that is I'd think there's a large overlap between those that are privacy-conscious and those that are conscious to those kinds of algorithmic manipulations. I don

I'm not entirely sure what market DuckDuckGo is trying to serve. - Non-privacy-conscious people are just going to use Google. - Privacy-conscious people know enough to realize that DuckDuckGo isn't really protecting your privacy,

People in HN threads should collectively start timing how long it takes for Gen Xers and boomers to come out of the woodwork to gatekeep something that has evolved past their tunnel-vision.

It's a shame that the whole "walkable city" concept has become a bit of a meme in the US - it truly should be a thing that we all strive to create - to nurture in-person relationships through the physical design of the space.

I truly do not understand this Rust-for-all-problems mentality. I was under the impression that Rust was essentially the next generation of C, meant for things like compilers, embedded systems, and other places where memory truly matters. W
