Okay. It seems that if I enable the typo feature (which is disabled by default, I've just checked in a clean profile) and go to amazon.comm, I get redirected to http://amazon.com/?tag=uf024-20 ABP notifies me of the re

I can't find any reference to Amazon in the source code. The source code is over there (GPL): https://hg.adblockplus.org/adblockplus/ The article seems to say this is related to the typo feature, but https:/

Autobanning is in my opinion tricky because there's a risk of triggering an arms race between autodetection and obfuscation, and giving quick feedback to the cheaters could turn out to help them.

I had good hopes when I saw `core.worktree`, but that was just cargo-culting. The right way to do it is to set the worktree to an outside location.

I use mini-dinstall for repos. Multiple versions would complicate things however; I'd probably do it by combining multiple suites.

This is also informative: http://pypy.org/tmdonate.html There haven't been any recent blog posts on that topic (and they aren't tagged consistently), this is the latest, which may explain the choice to go with C: http://morepypy.blogspot

I don't get the issue. In OCaml you can do |y -> y + x If y was defined in the outside scope, the case scope just shadows it.

By "talk" you mean the link to the "prefs redesign" bug, right? That bug was a good place to discuss which way the redesign would go, but Persch had already decided and made a branch to remove the code.

It can be reasonable to #if 0 a block of tricky code during a refactoring, just so that you can quickly cross the bridge to a working state. But removing it at that stage will make it impossible for the VCS to track changes to that piece o

If it works in a Python shell, it will work for an enum (this doesn't).

The only languages I'd consider strongly typed are static typed. Python functions are always 'a -> 'b (any to any), the weakest possible type for a function. Same for variables (as opposed to values), they are all 'a; same for list mem

GitHub might provide mechanism, but there is way too much policy in these proposals. Much of it could be implemented outside, though. If it's successful GitHub might take steps to remain the centre of gravity.

The aliases aren't part of the enum, if you think of the enum as a set of values. Iterating is done on the values, not the names. (the next paragraph gives you the __members__ ordered dict, if you want to iterate on something else)

If this was a strongly-typed language I wouldn't want enums to be nullable, but maybe people would use that in Python. Incidentally, this makes me wonder if one could implement something similar for flags (powers of two values, overloading

Since Enums are mostly unmagical (apart from the member wrapping), you can use a compact syntax: class Colors(Enum): red, green, blue = range(3)

Nope, Russel's paradox requires set membership axioms + a non-constructive definition of sets. Types are constructive here.

The link syntax is verbose, and there is no way to do inline links. The official page was last updated in 2009.
