Which is fine if you're using Haskell. I'm not sure I see the case for something like this if you're not using Haskell. Adding another package management system (cabal) into the mix seems like a lot of work. Of course I don

Goal The user is supposed to be never needing to call clean goal. Does this track build tools also? If you upgrade a compiler and some intermediate binary format changes, will it automatically clean up those stale files?

It's less of an issue now than it was a few years ago. But again context is key. Try "go observer" vs "golang observer". If your go app is having issues with a firewall you might search "go firewall" whic

When googling for go language related things, you may have a hard time, unless you know to use golang instead of go depending on context. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&e... vs https:&#x

The whole "Fast Lanes" argument is really just imposing "Slow Lanes." It feels like the ISP claiming its not their fault they don't have the capacity to provide the service they already sold to the customer. I thin

So it appears you're right. For things for which you don't care about any value returned this is the case. The reason I haven't run into this is for the most part things that can error, they also return a value that matters

fmt.Fprint(os.Stdout, "Something\n") By itself isn't a valid statement. You try to compile that and you'll get an error saying unused return value. So you'll try: err := fmt.Fprint(os.Stdout, "Something\n&quo

Yeah. The only caveat I'd give is a bit of a stretch. Not explicitly error handling, but you can lookup maps as: j := m["root"] or j, ok := m["root"] Again, this tangential to the subject at hand. But this is the

So I wouldn't confuse invariants w/ type assertions. Clojure does have separate type assert/checking in core.typed. Yes one thing you might use :pre/:post for is type checking, but it can do more than just that.

I believe :pre and :post conditions only get run when assertions are enabled. There are other languages that have this feature (Eiffel touts it pretty heavily), but I haven't seen the AHA! example where this is the long lost feature
