What incentivizes an ISP to become a member if it's not legally required and it pisses off (some) customers?

There is a meetup-like platform called Spontacts here in Germany. I suspect that for the moment it is only available for meetups in Germany, but who knows, maybe it'll expand internationally if it's successful.

That's because it hasn't. You wrote this on Dec 26, the event starts on Dec 27, 9:30 UTC.

Loading times surely is not a problem unique to Powershell. The more complex and advanced a software gets, the more it takes to load data into RAM that appears to the user redundant. This is the most noticable with startup times. My favorit

I actually saw the “summarize this page” feature in the right-click menu today and clicked on it out of curiosity. The box that appeared had a “remove AI features” button which I accidentally clicked. Now the feature is completely gone and

When I had to implement a UI for reordering a list, I just had a “move” button on each item, and when you press it “move here” buttons would appear between every item (and at the top and bottom). These buttons are positioned absolutely, so

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a correlation between people frequenting Wikimedia websites and people using Firefox. It would be nice to know.

I'm confused by your comment. I'm one person giving one downvote. I downvoted when I saw the insult. I'm not speaking on behalf of any other downvoters.

I don't remember the last time I've clicked on a Firefox icon. I've pinned it to the taskbar and I press Win+1 to use it, which is 100 times faster. I've been doing that for >10 years now.

That kind of Flash is still around and well. Many newer shows are animated in Flash (MLP: FiM, Bluey, the last season of Fairly OddParents, etc.). What was killed wasn't Flash itself, but Shockwave Flash (Flash in the browser).

Can you describe what you think is sub-optimal? Is it just the performance or is there something else? I've been using SVG for years for various purposes (though, admittedly, mostly static graphics) and I can't complain.

A lot of the behaviors should just have a toggle to turn them off. For example, there are many situations where margin collapsing is in the way and I keep wondering why there isn't simply a `margin-collapse: none`. It would also be nic

This is true, but my feeling is that with CSS, a lot of the weird decisions are for backwards compatibility with way back when HTML was just tag soup and browser implementations were haphazard.

Yet, for some reason, mobile browsers do not reflow when you zoom in, but instead insist on horizontal scrolling, unlike their desktop counterparts. I've never understood that.
