Both your link, and the “Live Demo” link in the GitHub readme, are dead links.

Indeed! I was disinclined to even look at this project because it said ASCII when the box-drawing characters are obviously a lot more suitable. It should say “text-only” or “plain-text” or similar instead.

The article didn't even bother to provide the Japanese characters (kanji) for the supposed meaning of “Satoshi Nakamoto”, much less any breakdown of how it's supposed to mean that. This is screaming conspiracy theory so hard.

Aw man, no mention of Funciton :) [0] I believe I understand where the designer is coming from. Traditional languages use a 1D syntax to express a structure that is really not 1D (the parse tree). However, I don't think it's reall

When I “blast” a website design, it's for practical reasons, not because I dislike the design. Since I mostly read HN on my phone, every website that is slow, laggy or unreadable on mobile just stands out negatively.

OK so if I understand you right, you're implying that it's only “technically” illegal but it won't be enforced?

Wow, this is terrible and dangerous advice. There are multiple laws that prohibit this, some of which are in place to protect people from danger (such as the high voltages involved or the possible risk of injury to yourself or others) while

Hi! Looks like I expressed myself very ambiguously here. Sorry about that. I am not a Rust evangelist. I've never written any code in it and barely know its features on a theoretical level. I have also not dissed on anyone's decis

I have a theory that what we need to reduce conflict in the future is not more speed of communication but more fidelity. At present we can only communicate in spoken or written human language, and this language is not just imprecise and a

No, the purposes of asm.js versus 'use strict' are completely different and in conflict with one another.

ASM.js and 'use strict' have completely different purposes. One is a performance thing and is (or was supposed to be) used as a compiler target. The other is all about making the programmer’s life easier by disabling features that

I am indeed tired of JS; however, I'm not a fan of PHP either. I like the new pipe syntax as a concept, but when added to an already uncomfortable overall programming environment, it can only provide mild relief.

Readability (and hence, maintainability) is definitely a factor in decisions like this. In the particular case of the pipe operator though, the article does mention something it lets you do that you couldn't do before: in a context whe

The section where the article mentions function composition implies that it doesn't. The article says that compositing the functions before passing them into map would be an optimization. I take that to mean that without the compositio
