Excellent timing, I've just announced on a mailing-list my first public AMI. So I'll have to check tomorrow if I made mistakes on the way :) (I'm pretty sure I haven't left anything confidential, but there might be some cruft with my keys…)

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm curious about: did Dropbox learn about it through that guy's discovery? If so, we're lucky that that guy came across it the very same day the bug was introduced. I'd assume there aren't that many people who wou

Not that it would really change anything, but there isn't much wording around apologies or being sorry about letting that happened. More details would have been nice too. Allowing anybody to log into anybody's account is a big deal , even

Perceptions (and valuations) have shifted a lot in recent years, and, as the article points out, the "Billion dollar club" is getting crowded. YouTube was bought for $1.6B after all. That was a huge deal then. When Zuckerberg refused the

Thanks for sharing that. I've been thinking on and off about moving programming from a hobby to full-time job and it's nice to see someone who took the plunge. I'm curious to know if it was difficult to find an internship. Typically, compan

To prove your point I upvoted and replied to your comment just by using the keyboard. I don't mind using the mouse so much as I do moving my hand from my keyboard to the mouse and back.

My understanding is that it's tied to your Apple ID and the whole thing is free (up to certain limits). So if a user has your app, they have an Apple ID and they have some iCloud storage. However, it is likely that, as a user, you have to a

As Steve Jobs talked about during the keynote, the idea is to mostly remove the paradigm of files and folders from people's minds. I imagine the iCloud APIs will allow you to hook into iCloud as easily as you would local storage. Which mean

That would work for some stuff, but I'm not sure what would happen to the data stored by third-party apps. iTunes has a section to retrieve documents that some apps create, as long as the apps themselves are built to take advantage of that.

Which makes me realize that I haven't seen any Twitter clients allowing you to filter out tweets by app. The info is provided through the API, so it'd be pretty easy to do. (NB: I haven't tried a whole lot of client so that might be out the

The first thing that comes to mind is that I'd want to be able to make the replies more dynamic. Maybe a model like Yahoo! Pipes (does that still exist?) where I could build a dictionary app, or a weather app, or anything like that. Though

If you want to go this route I'd go one step further: just use the console in the web browser. It's pretty much as accessible and everywhere as BASIC was.

(I also wonder how many downloads are driven [redacted]) Way to spoil what many (including taptaptap in this post) want to keep under wrap. :) But I would be very surprised if many downloads were for that. For one thing, it's not discusse

Unfortunately, that's always a tough part when trying to learn from taptaptap's successes. It's much harder to be motivated to work on a tease before launch, a tweetblast, etc. when you don't have an audience yet... However, as always, it d

The distinction between downloading and streaming can be considered odd from a technical standpoint, however I do think that it's much much easier to stream illegal content unknowingly than it is downloading it. Basically, if you download a

(I'll sound like a 1Password fanboy in this thread but so be it) I'm not sure that's what you mean by "beware the clipboard", but 1Password actually clears the clipboard some time after you copy a password to it. In my case, it doesn't real
