Endpoint Security is a user framework, that's the point. You can write a driver in macOS. You have to write a driver for Windows, there is literally no other solution for real-time protection.

std::make_unique does the exact same kind of forwarding arguments to a constructor. Yeah it's important to know which constructor you're calling, but that's just a general fact, emplace_back isn't exceptional.

Windows eBPF support is experimental and currently provides hooks for packet filtering stuff and nothing else. I would be delighted if their long-term solution is eBPF which provides full anti-malware hooks, but again it's unfortunatel

Good terrain generation is not trivial, either at world scale or down at eye level. The straightforward approach yields what you see in the article, a craggy heightmap which looks like almost nothing in reality and isn't particularly i

I wish I could remember the names, but there have been a couple attempts at AI services which try to turn GitHub issues into pull requests. Their success rate is dismal. The vast majority of development work isn't creating slightly mod

Tabletop RPG books c. 1989 were doing all kinds of stuff with generic pronouns. I believe Vampire (1991) primarily but not exclusively used "she". Other games would use "she" for the GM and "he" for players, st

And Microsoft doesn't even offer the option of userspace anti-malware hooks, which they could easily do in conjunction with the kernel stuff. I think all they have is AMSI, which is only for scanning PowerShell scripts and such. If y

What, the auto-updating part? Obviously the client is verifying signatures (or using TLS with a client certificate, whatever), not just accepting whatever random file comes down the pipe.

It's not an "app", it's a kernel driver. A serious driver bug is catastrophic in nearly any OS.

Godot uses source generators to fill out C# partial classes, so it doesn't quite have native F# support. You'd at least need C# shims for your types that inherit from Godot classes.

Right, $3500 is a really clear signal that Apple knows what it's doing, that this is not even an attempt to be a mainstream product yet. Who knows if they'll succeed in the end, but this is just the beginning of a long term projec

Obfuscation seems like a great way to get your developer account suspended. I suspect Apple is doing a lot more than just basic static analysis of the binary on disk. Glad they went with a config option instead.
