The difference is game developers generally don't care about the small Mac market and have no problem leaving it behind, that's not true for web where ios makes up a decent chunk of traffic.

I'm a fan of echo, especially for loops: for i in some/files/*; do echo mkdir -p ${i%%.*}; echo mv "${i}" "${i%%.*}/${i}"; done That way I can see what it's gonna evaluate to first.

I'm one of those strange people that finds mac touchpads maddeningly annoying. I used to carry a mouse with me when I had a macbook for work. So non-crap is the opposite direction from that for me. But hey, to each their own. That'

As good or bad as you want it to be. Arch doesn't have any default gui or desktop environment, so it really depends on what window manager / desktop environment you run. Gnome3 and kde5 are both pretty good out of the box with hid

I haven't seen a non-crap touchpad that didn't have buttons, likely because my definition of crap is different than yours and includes massive surfaces that feel awful and get in the way of using the keyboard, and hoping the prope

That's a bit misleading though, since above F350 isn't really considered "consumer" level but commercial work trucks. If you want a big truck while still technically being a pickup, you might as well go for the F750: ht

Yeah there are definitely use cases where UDP makes sense and they're far from rare, but that doesn't mean TCP should be thrown out since there are still many cases where a reliable connection based protocol is better.

I use sftp/scp constantly, but I'm not sure how is an ASCII mode needed/important for that.

I've talked to people that earnestly hold this view and want everything to be on top of udp.

Out of curiosity, why did sftp need ascii mode? I'm drawing a blank trying to think of why sftp would need it.

And in 20-30 years we'll likely be saying the same about UTF-8. I figured that "ANSI" would give away that I wasn't being serious since it's not actually an encoding.
