1) Putting everything in /usr/local is far less secure as that means its world writable (oh, my version of bash just overwrote yours, and I added some extra patches ;) ). If it's just in the user's home directory, it&#x

I used Mosiaco[0] for a while, but I found it more frustrating than useful. The paid version is slightly better but not by much. Eventually I found gaming not to be a good enough reason to use windows as my main os, and now only boot into i

Reputation is a great judge of quality and for certain things, and absolutely awful for others. For things that take a great deal of base knowledge to properly evaluate, like cryptography, quantum physics, etc. relying on reputation is gene

It was pretty painless for the first three for me, all run off one gpu, nvidia 270 iirc so nothing crazy. My setup is pretty lightweight even with compton running so it's never been an issue. Awesome handles multiple monitors really we

This seems like a needless widely sweeping generalization. Maybe 3+ monitors won't solve your problems, but they certainly help mine. The main issue I see people having with multiple and/or large monitors is the window manager.

I wonder how difficult it would be to federate gitlab or gogs. Set up something like OAuth so you can log into anyone's gitlab (provided they have to set to public) and be able to fork/clone/branch to your "home" in

I'd say China and India today are just as big of a threat, if not bigger, as the USSR was. Why don't we see this same competition now? Is it because it's not sensationalized? Because no one takes it seriously for some reason

You can probably do it with a bundle, the same way it's done for nginx; append the CA cert to yours: cat your_cert.crt CA_cert.crt >> cert_bundle.crt

To be a bit pedantic, you don't actually resolve the ip address itself. A reverse dns lookup actually just does a lookup of {the ip address with octets reversed}.in-addr.arpa: > host 216.58.208.238 238.208.58.216.

I generally think the same thing, but then assume that they marked it at that price specifically so people would think that. So generally I assume any price is just some sort of marketing unless I can see the actual breakdown of the price.

I'm not sure how they are supposed to prevent this. If you have access to the dns, you can change the record for the origin server that the cdn pulls from. Nothing "horribly wrong" with that.
