I logged out of Hacker News for a month recently, and also part of the time out of Twitter and Facebook. I was still allowed to read HN, just not to comment, as the latter tends to waste the most time. What I have come to feel is that my us

Could this be the first online movie rental service that runs on Linux? That would be very exciting news.

In the article it says "they played a VIOLENT video game" (emphasis mine), yet the title only says "video games". For all we know, there might be sleep inducing video games. Apart from that I wonder how much of it is just "sitting in front

Is that really a different tech or just creating a field with more power? I suspect wireless charging consumes power even if nothing gets charged, so selling it as environment friendly is stretching it a bit.

The difference is that an icon library can probably only be completed by the initial designer, because all the icons should match in style.

The way you write already suggests intelligence. In what ways did you try to prepare for that networking class? It sounds as if they didn't provide anything for you to cling to if you weren't already familiar with the territory?

Do people still trust their governments? Because I sure as hell don't - and I live in Germany, probably one of the more democratic countries out there.

I must admit, while nice, I never understand the upvotes for such icon collections? I'd expect that if you started using them, you'd inevitably quickly find that you miss some crucial icons, which you would then commission from the original

Curious: what methods are you using for your analysis? Feeding data in some software, or just pen+paper+brain?

Where I live you can get punished for stuff people do with your open Wifi network. I think the authorities know exactly what they doing: they don't want people to anonymously surf the internet, so the prevent it by making it impossible to r

Most websites include a host of javascript from other sites, like Google Analytics, Like-Buttons, Ads, and so on. If they all can get to the password it seems like an issue to me. Personally I am surprised by this. Afaik you can not copy+pa

The Micro-USB connector is not square. With normal USB, true, it can be annoying to find the right orientation, but they still seem to be zillions of times more sturdy than the cables before them. Remember PS2 with those tiny pins inside?
