Not sure - unemployment would cause a lot more anxiety, I would imagine. Are pensioners especially depressed (if age and diseases are factored out)?

It would be difficult to let kids live in squalor, though. Presumably parents would receive at least some extra money, but perhaps it would decline with the number of children.

I guess something like that will be inevitable. Unfortunately it will have to be combined with a control of population size or it will be unsustainable.

Apparently an English Major enables you to fill an entire page without providing any arguments at all. That's definitely a useful skill.

A bit further on they also write that the seducer should learn to figure out when NO really means NO. And if humans are wired that way (responding to touch) then it's not the fault of somebody writing a book. There is also scientific r

Not making a case against Excel, more against J2EE consulting really... Although I admit I have no idea how it could be possible to create a bug free Excel sheet. It's funny that people avoid programming like the plague but somehow man

Also, watch the movie Office Space and read lots of Dilbert cartoons to mentally prepare for your mind numbing career in IT.

"you are looking for a MS Excel spreadsheet which has ever been mailed by Bob to Cindy" That's how I (unenthusiastically) described my job as a Java developer in the first decade of the 21st century. Not sure if by now all Ex

You want somebody you love to die so you can fulfill your dream of building farm machines from scratch? OK... To each their own I guess :-) What if somebody you loves dies and suddenly you find that spending time with that person would have

I'd expect cognitive dissonance to have the higher effect - "I paid so much for this, it must be good".

Ugh - I am constantly at the limit of my 256GB SSD and it is very annoying. Unfortunately in the MB Air there is no way to swap the SSD for a bigger one... So I'd go with the 512GB any day. Before the Air, I used to always upgrade HD a

What's the benefit of being broken down? Not thinking "I know what's up" can also be achieved simply by thinking, no need to die for it.

That theory seems awfully simplistic. Or on the other hand, perhaps the whole world is deflationary, because it is a limited resource. So the the bleak future you depict is inevitable.

I've been thinking about this a lot, but I wonder if the ususal affiliate fees would be enough to pay for rent, staff and demo objects. I rather doubt it, and maybe online shops can't pay much more without raising prices.

Religion is just superstition, too. And it can make people go on murdering sprees as well. Better teach them rational and independant thinking.

Why is it inappropriate to communicate about a job for a presumed friend via text message? I mean I think it would depend on the relationship, maybe the "kid" just judged it wrongly. Wouldn't calling be much more intrusive, for example? Als
