Most gas stations in Norway have or is in the process of getting charging stations. The only thing that sucks big time is the payment process. With gas you present your card and then fill your tank. Easy. With chargers you have to download

You sound both like a wonderful human being and a very annoying one at the same time. But I like it. I salute you for keeping your people connected. Wish I had someone like you in my life.

Nice thing with EVs is that with regenerative breaking you barely use the brakes at all. When I hade mine in for regular service interval the mechanic told me to do some hard brakes from time to time to keep rust off the brakes!

FYI: almost everyone learning to drive in Norway now does so with automatic and as such get a license for automatic only. Guess the same will happen in the UK pretty quick.

Manual is niche in Norway now. The manual sale is close to zero. And you will have problems selling your old manual car. This shift started before EV’s took over the new car market. But it’s not that many years since manual were completely

I think most electric crossings are fjord crossings, not island connections. Typically 2-6 kilometers.

Hurtigruten also have two exploration cruise ships that with hybrid propulsion. I think they mainly use the electric part when close to shore and in harbour.

Around a quarter of all ferry connections in Norway have been electrified. Often there's one electric and one regular diesel ferry operating in tandem. Bastø Electric is still the biggest one though.

As far as I understand Starship can only reach LEO and requires refueling from several refueling missions while in orbit for longer missions. Great if spacex is able to pull it off, but it is years if not decades until they get there.
