Personally I think that's assuming too much. We know so little about what life is like even if sentience has evolved on other planets that pretty much everything is pure speculation. Also, slightly contradictarily, natural selection/evolu

I've experienced erasures of memory related to using the bathroom. "Did I flush?" I had. It's not like I wasn't conscious, just that my brain doesn't give a shit. I'm sure he's talking about a similar thing.

Jeez, they really tore into the poor guy. I think it was an admirable effort at least. He already feels like shit, and they're just tearing him new ones.

You seem to have a general mistrust of others. I've found life is a little better if you don't assume everyone's out to get you from the get-go.

Sounds like someone needs to tell the Dyslexic Association of America about Readability (or maybe a dyslexic programmer should tweak it first). http://lab.arc90.com/experiments/readability/

But it's not a when question. It's a what question. And if you don't know, why would you code for all the possible possibilities?

I can understand your point of view, but I think OP is saying that it will be interpreted differently, regardless of your intent. People's prior experiences put words in your mouth.

I think this could add a lot for immersion, but there are a lot of problems with the scent medium. It's your body detecting particles, not waves. Particles linger, so it's not like the smell's going to go away. Say you're in a burning vil

Hold on - isn't HN the same crowd that says "Don't ask permission, ask forgiveness"? Though it was against the doctor's wishes, I don't think what Tim did was out of line (assuming it's the truth). If it were libel, he'd be seeing a lawsuit

Pretty damn funny, but don't forget how Ferriss got to where he is in the first place: making a lot of money in a business. (Just to make sure, you're saying he doesn't have a lot of experience with tech startups, right?)

I agree, to a point. That kind of thinking definitely has a place, and it works wonders for productivity I'm sure. You're talking about making it clear what you need to do tomorrow, making a plan so you always know what to do next. This art
