There has been no apparent absence. Ever heard of an australopithecine? Homo habilis? Homo erectus? These hardly scratch the surface of the variety of the man-apes we've found, yet Creationists still somehow cry for a missing link. They've

Interesting idea, but some of the interpretations are way off. The Jerry/Walter thing is weird. Why would you compare the Dennises against a group of similar size instead of just comparing the ratios betwen Dennises and everyone? I mean, ma

I think it's more likely that procrastination is a result of our internal reward system. Things considered work are not considered fun, and therefore not done. I mean, have you ever heard of a person putting off masturbation? The only thing

What's up with that weird hash function? Seems to me you could just convert the string into its base 26 representation. Edit: I would actually like to know if/why the method used is more useful than the one I gave. I'm not just trying to be

Just teach lambda calculus and get it over with. That stuff's awesome without having to bring in scaly beings. Dealing with these inane pictures just adds too much overhead. I remember when we were learning about these in class - I was so c

The problem with methane is that it's more efficient at keeping heat in than carbon dioxide is. So while the net carbon effect may be nil, the carbon is producing more trouble because of the cows.

I don't know, man. All those flashing "I QUIT!!"s seem kind of disrespectful. I guess it would be understandable if he were leaving because the place sucked, but according to the last screen, it doesn't, so what gives?

I think, for this article, the definition of porn used is "depiction of naked people". This works well with all of the detection algorithms, but more importantly, it works with the stated problem: naked people are the things Papa is upset a

It's not clear whether the author of the article was talking about improving from 50 wpm to 70 wpm or from hunt-and-peck to 50 wpm. The second is probably a clear gain for everyone.
