Right, because every startup is Worth It (TM l'Oreal). :P Of course, you're also right - I don't think this guy is a very effective VC at this point. Some of his points seemed completely disconnected. But a person hand-waving or getting ne

Not true AFAIRC. Lipids are absorbed as lipids (fatty acids), proteins as amino acids. Aminos can be broken down into sugar, though.

When did he say to do that? The point was that building habits is easier with a low-stress, laid-back approach.

Yeah, thanks - I do try to do the right thing. But that doesn't mean I'm a pushover. You can be alpha and still be a nice guy, it's just how you deal with those who -aren't- nice that matters.

Attractive men DON'T have to deal with the same kind of shit, in general, because they are not a minority. They are not in a minority with social precedents to keep them down, which is what this article is all about. Institutionalized sexua

Clones are generally very fragile beings. They die soon. Also, they're not that easy to make - a whole process has to be discovered for each species. It's very, very time consuming and expensive.

Deficient in cortisol? That sounds very interesting... Isn't that the stress hormone? What kind of effects was that having on your life, other than the sleepiness?

It sounds like you might be coming off as an unpleasant person. I'm not sure, but that may be affecting your relationships with your clients. More than that, it is probably affecting the -type- of clients you get. If you're not willing to w

It's interesting, I think, how much sheer emotion there is behind these child protection issues. Is there anything more emotionally provocative than the thought of harm to your children? Your own flesh and blood, who you've raised from befo

Shouldn't it be that getting into the zone and becoming an expert are two different things? I've definitely been able to get into the zone as a programmer, have been for a long time, but I'm far cry from anywhere near expert level. So why d

I don't know what led this reporter to believe that improved FFTs could speed up rendering on mobile phones. Is there any basis to this at all? Seems like you have to create the picture first, before FFTs can be useful at all. Maybe he conf

It's not that the media "tells" you that; though they do. But that's just a reflection of the current state of mind of the populace. People "know" this "fact", that a 3rd partier basically has no chance. I mean, look at Ron Paul. He's compl

I think you're discounting the other benefits of working at a startup vs. a larger company. More freedom, more high-tech, more excitement. This pays you back as well. Not everything is just a cash value.

I don't understand your points at all - and your last sentence sounds ironic. Should I be taking you at face value? Anyways, your 3rd party situation has one pitfall: how would it get into power? The 2 party system's devisors have us beat

There's always a workaround - spending lots of money spread over different people's names, for instance. Of course, you'd have to buy the mules first, and that affects the efficiency, but cheating would still occur. But anyways, yeah, the h

It's just one day . Are you really that reliant on Wikipedia that you can't go a single day without using it? It seems to me a lot of the people against the blackout don't have any long-term reasons why it might be bad, only discomfort.
