Yes, of course. If you are a company, you know your rep.

What's the dissonance? Sounds like the two things you said are in agreement. Or maybe your main point is the part in parentheses?

Awesome exit for them but, darn it, there goes another great app. Destined to become a shadow of its former self.

We criticize companies when they do this sort of thing. We should not feel differently, let alone suggest, an individual does that too.

I have a cheap Qi charger (aren't they all cheap these days?) and this only happened to me once or twice in the two years with the N5.

I'm not ready to consider the wireless charging just a marginal convenience. Once I started using it I could not tolerate not having it. The only place I use the cable is in the car, where I'm not supposed to be holding the phone

Can we agree already to not have to tip? I don't want Amazon to realize this money-saving practice at my expense. We don't tip UPS, we shouldn't tip these guys. Nobody tips me for pushing code to git.

I'm going to steal this, thanks. I'll probably make it a script file instead of an alias, though.

It's very common, at least on my team, to create pull requests for the wrong target branch. I don't see why GitHub doesn't allow you to fix it before any comments are posted. This would save some useful time.

I always wished GitHub had a chat room per repo. Fully integrated with github features, like mentions, issues, pull requests. Maybe even hubot builtin.

Keep in mind that opinions on HN often do not reflect the situation in the general programming community. I think what we are seeing is a particular developer demographic performing their periodic migration. I'm referring to the group

On Chrome on Mac the dragging to the left leaves a trail behind, which goes away when finished.

Many companies have a hiring process that favors hiring very similar engineers. Hiring different types of programmers would increase their diversity, which for me is a great quality of a team. The challenge here is to identify the competent

Yup. There's reason for some initial amusement but much respect for openly taking care of the problem. This will win them appreciation and confidence in the aftermath of this disaster.

I doubt the autocomplete browser feature applies to password entry. It would freak people out if their browser started suggesting the password as you typed. It does apply for the username/email field, though.

Despite of what developers like to think, success is not linked to technical competence. Achieving the former allows you to address the latter.

Well, IEbook would be an awful choice for the name. I hope we never see an IE OS. And, to be clear, I don't think it would be a success or that I'd get one. I'm just saying Microsoft has been acting so erratically that they

Microsoft is on an anti-Chromebook crusade at the moment but an MS-branded Chromebook clone wouldn't shock me. And that would not be the Surface. I'm thinking something with a proper Internet based OS. Some new variant of Windows

Two last paid support cases were closed after they identified a bug in their code and we found a more elegant fix than the hack suggested by them. We still had to pay for both. I'm not impressed with aws support so far. Especially Ela

Funny enough, I had just sent an email to GitHub support yesterday with similar comment. Using chatrooms internally as much as they do, I can't believe GH doesn't have builtin chat with deep integration and decent API. Heck, even

Just look at the recent Developer site snafu. Or look at all the times their simple alarm clock choked on New Year's Day or leap years. Or even that hilarious bug where typing File:/// would crash almost all OSX and iOS
