I'll have to wait for those to get flagship specs before considering it. Though honestly I'd probably prefer an android/ios device able to run a different operating system on the external display in all cases.

Would this allow me to plug an Android phone into a monitor and have it boot windows/linux like DeX? (so keeping android on the phone, but the desktop on the external display) This would be a pretty strong argument for me to move away

This is especially funny (or sad) after the removal of the dislike button, guess that not all creators need protection after all. I didn't know her before, and am likely not the target audience, but I fully support her complaints.

The issue (or benefit depending on how you see it) is that Apple is very conservative and try to limit as much as possible their security risks. Sideloading is part of it, and I can also mention JIT compilation.

People will now be able to perfectly manipulate their audience by deleting every unwanted comment and hiding behind the fact that dislikes not being present is not their fault. I'd argue that viewers need more protection than creators.

I remember this post being referenced by Brian Goetz, which ultimately leaded to the development of project Loom in the JVM (green threads handled by the runtime)
