Sometimes the fix cannot be implemented at the team level. It has to be implemented on a larger systems level. In other words, either the organization itself has to go bankrupt and be dismembered, or your entire team has to be dismantled

Software patents are utter garbage. We all know that. Most software patent attorneys know that. The system has evolved to keep lawyers employed. It is a way of taxing engineers to support lawyers. The plaintiffs need lawyers. The defen

Supply and demand. The barriers to entry to be a QA tester are very low. Everyone with no art or programming skills that loves games and wants to get into the industry applies as a QA tester. If people unionize and prevent employers from

How come nobody thinks about Google's App Engine (and/or Compute Engine) in these situations? Is it really that unbaked?

Are you joking? I travel to India frequently for business. I can assure you corruption is rampant at all levels I've had the misfortune of being in contact with (which is not very high level at all). You need to bribe everyone in Indian

Beautiful people, both male and female, work well in sales positions because they can draw you in by faking interest in you (the fake interest may be in the form of a question, familiarity, body language, etc.) A lot of people find it hard

The real question is, who are the naive suckers that actually donated to this campaign? I wish we could interview one of these donors. What goes through their head when they click the donate button? Do they just read the keywords like, "

The weirdest thing about these Chromebooks is that they are terrible machines to code on. You would think that Google would make some sort of effort to put some free development tools on them to promote their technologies like AppEngine, D
