If it's growing at a constant percentage per year, it's growing exponentially, so it must be getting faster in absolute terms, since 2% of today's economy is much more than 2% of 1950s economy.

They do. As an example, over time older/weaker versions of TLS are gradually phased out. It's now difficult/impossible to access many websites from outdated devices without using a special proxy.

From the GitHub repo Readme: > we can achieve this within a span of "just" 90 days using 16 A100-40G GPUs I knew the computational power required to train LLMs was absurd, but seeing the figures of larger networks (which are ju

There are many foods that can change urine color, notably beets and some artificial food dyes. This is actually a common scare for parents when their kids suddenly pee in a different color, and later they find out they had a strong colored

The demand is far from insatiable, the linked site shows the number of new emoji per year has decreased dramatically, and most of the new ones are encoded with ZWJ sequences that don't really require new unicode codepoints. Also the ex

The Files app allows storing files locally, and mounting network shares. You can also seamlessly copy and paste files (via handoff) between macOS and iOS. I typically just hit Cmd+C on the Mac and long press+Paste on Files on the iPhone. If

A more sensible approach for that use-case would be IMO to have well-defined specialized prefixes for padding, instead of relying on the case-by-case behavior of redundant prefixes. (However I understand that there's almost certainly a

What would be neater is a `media()` CSS function, similar to `var()`, `env()` or `calc()` that allowed you to conditionally switch values based on arbitrary media queries, for example: color: media(min-width: 1001px, red, blue)
