I had the luck to have Fabiano Botelho — the person behind the Minimal Perfect Hash thesis — as an Algorithms and Data Structures professor back when I was studying Computer Engineering at CEFET-MG. He is absolutely brilliant, and has some

I don't get it. So by using IE11, you're part of the IE6-IE10 statistic? How so?

Swift's enums are like Rust's enums, so they're much more powerful than C's enums: In C an enum can assume one of multiple predefined values of type `int`. In Swift an enum can work like that too, but it can also assume

The new engine.io module used behind the scenes is amazing. It will start with long polling, and upgrade to WebSockets seamlessly (so you get a very fast start every time, even in old browsers or proxied envs). AFAIK, this is the opposite o

When custom TLDs were announced I was kinda skeptical about the whole thing, thought it was just an ICANN money-grab... and that it was a bad idea from a technical perspective because it broke the nice hierarchical organization we had befor

Surprisingly, not a lot more than 1080p video! There's no reason the color and depth data produced by the Kinects can't be encoded and compressed in a "regular" video stream. A very naive approach (where you simply stitc

I could see some conflicts of interest issues too. (e.g. implementing WebRTC could be against their interests - since Microsoft owns Skype, they might not want to lower the barrier of entry to a competitor.)

Thanks for such a fast reply! :) I'm quite happy with Microsoft's recent push towards openness. One additional suggestion: Perhaps you could also include a rationale on why a specific feature is not planned to be implemented: e.g.
