It’s a fun idea! Sadly, I found it to be trivial with relative pitch. Could I suggest adding some extra challenges? Maybe define notes in terms of intervals to the root. Or maybe removing the sample tune and give us more guesses? I don’t ev

lol that’s very similar to what’s been happening to me: I have a 6-Pi cluster at home, running Docker Swarm + Portainer + GlusterFS to host a series of services I use daily. That includes a blog that I’ve been afraid to post to because the

Sadly, data collection has been completely normalized. I've been thinking about buying a new car, but I'm very aware of how much tracking/telematics they include nowadays... so I decided to search "$manufacturer disable

Many of the people hyping AI work on AI. Their livelihoods depend on the hype.

Funny, I just bought a second switch in hopes of expanding my cluster of 6 Pis. Sounds like I need to go hunting for scooters now.

It does provide basic recommendations based on the video you’re currently watching. If you only care about the channels you’re subscribed to, it’s a much better experience.

I wonder if we're gonna see an ad-blocker-blocker-blocker kinda race going on here. As long as the code runs in the users' browser, there should be a way around it. Makes me wonder if they'll ever move to WASM... though I ass

That's my thought exactly: there's no logical reason for this to need to send your location, so it's probably monetized by AMap to improve location accuracy. The fact that it's not disclosed is worrisome but sounds more

Awesome write-up! When my friends laugh at my obsession over privacy and data collection, this is the kind of thing I point at. There's no reason to believe they're doing this for malicious reasons, but we really have no way to kn

Figuring out why my GlusterFS mounts randomly fail with “transport endpoint not connected”. Easy to mitigate with a script to umount and then mount again, but I wish I didn’t have to do that at all. I’m also working on my guitar - got a new

Several reasons: 1. Planned obsolescence at the firmware/app level. Eventually, manufacturers and app maintainers stop supporting your TV. When that happens, you need to change the whole smart TV. Dumb TV + smart box means you can upgr

I've never seen a smart TV with objectively simple and good UI. LG's annoying menus and motion-controlled pointer are a good example of bad UI.

No mention of smart TV's embedded planned obsolescence? If they stop updating the firmware, eventually the smart features and apps stop working as well.

I wholeheartedly agree with you here. It’s sad that I haven’t found a way to explain this view to others without sounding like a raving lunatic - which also speaks volumes about the state of the tracking/advertising industry. Pihole vi

That trend is already happening: look at the prevalence of SUVs and gigantic trucks in the States. Many of them are tall enough that you wouldn't be able to see a kid, or even smaller cars, when they're right in front of you. EDIT

I wonder which branch produces their high-end headphones, such as the HD800S. EDIT: found the answer, they're built by Sennheiser in Ireland instead of Germany. General consensus seems to be that the quality hasn't gone down.
