With Proton’s catch-all and sieve filters, I’ve simplified my method to the following: * Every company I interact with gets a different email alias (no tags - company@mydomain.com) * Every company gets a category tag (Finances, Travel, Ente

Dunno, man. I'm using Claude 3.5 via Cody on IntelliJ for work, or via Kagi for other cases. When it works, it works great - especially for easy, well-understood things like boilerplate code or the typical simple tasks that I don'

That’s why I also block all known DoH IPs. It’s a pretty long list, like 130 IPs. I have an allowlist for devices I don’t want to mess with, like my Pihole or guest devices. It’s definitely not perfect, but it does de job for now.

Then you write router-level firewall rules for the IPs you know are safe to fully block. You can do that selectively so you don’t break other devices. I already do this for local DNS circumvention, which is probably a lot more common than h

You can set blocking per-device. I have strict blocking for my own devices, super-heavy blocking for IoT and other untrusted devices, and a lighter blocking as default. If they complain, I can disable blocking for them, or even set up a gue

Personally, I went the nuclear route with a Pihole. My devices can’t talk to Google.

I see these are being sold for pretty cheap… I’d love to have one to playing around with! The noise is a dealbreaker for me though… maybe somebody will come up with a watercooling mod.

I meant it more in the sense that I got everything running the way I want to and I don’t want to go through the trouble of setting everything up again just yet: fixes for weird issues specific to my laptop; custom scripts to switch between

That’s why I bought myself a portable headphone DAC. I went for the Qudelix 5K. I can turn any headphone into a bluetooth headset, or connect them via USB-C or Lightning with the right cables.

Yeah, almost every multiplayer-focused game nowadays seems to be trying to be the next big e-sport. There's always somebody who's fully focused on the meta and being competitive, and lashing out at people who don't. I have to

It’s the Mr. Krabs money meme. They’ll take as much as they can get away with before people seriously push back. I mean, it’s nothing new, really - see how some paid streaming services have converted their paid, ad-free tiers to have ads, a

Another anecdote to add to the pile. We used to have semi-feral cats living in our shed. One time, one of them had kittens. Not too long after, our dogs broke into the fenced area around the shed and killed and ate the kittens. We only foun
