You can force transitive dependency to the version you want. Just do a go get and your entire project will use version x.y.z. And I believe Go only using one version is the best solution. It avoids many problems.

None of the distro keeps package up to date with mpv. Only rolling one are probably updated. Adding a file does not enqueued them, it just open it and play it right away.

MPV is great for powerusers, for the vast majority of people just use VLC. I used both over the year and there are still things that are really annoying in mpv: - you can't render on a Chromecast - opening a file that does not work doe

Most of those solutions are not on part with Cockroach, Cockroach is basically Spanner usable outside of Google. So global transaction with cluster world wide.

Go tooling is far better than Elixir and I would say above Rust. You should have a look what the go command can do.

Protobuf is not the default in Go the default is REST. What tools are a mess? Go tooling ( runtime ) and IDE integration is very good. Go is not a hyped language, we're past that cycle, some critical and widely used software are built

The Chromecast Ultra released 8 years ago was already able to play 4k hdr with dolby vision, where is the giant leap in performance?

Understand how? You still need to understand the path layout, something is still parsing that path so it needs to be valid.

I don't see where it's remotely useful, the idea sounds fun but it's not praticle. Explain how it is better vs having a simple cli that parse args and store that into SQLite.

I remember a popular HN post from 10 years ago, that was pulled or the source was pulled because Shazam legally threatened the disclosure of the algorithm. I think it's actually the Google drive file pdf capture from OP's article.

If you play games, Intel has no answer to the X3D series from AMD. It's even worse with their p vs e cores that creates issues in many games.

I'm not versed enough into windows loading dll / driver, but isn't the caller able to handle that situation? Or windows itself? Does loading an empty file driver can be handled in a way that it does not make the OS crash?

Not really, even for security updates are not needed by the minute. Do you think Microsoft rollout world wide updates to everyone?

One thing I learned from that post back then is that you can instruct Grub to ignore some part of your physical memory. Really nice trick, not sure this is doable on Windows / Mac?

OP ask for a similar pattern for .net, you come here with unnecessary aggressive stance on something that was released 8 month ago, looking at your history it does not surprises though since you seems to have a grudge with Go.
