Probably not voluntary - it's because preselecting the yes option is violating european laws.

As long as people are thinking clearly, i think it should be up to them. There is no financial incentive. No-one is making any money from assisted suicide in Switzerland.

If you don‘t encrypt everything a malicious actor like some ISPs can inject nasty things like pervasive tracking or zero day exploits.

I don't understand. Why is it a problem with Datastar if you buy their Pro license without needing it?

The Sovereign Tech Agency is doing a great job, I hope other countries will follow Germany's example and fund similar agencies. If we want to rely on Open Source software, we need to pay for maintenance.

I saw the prototype at gamescom, too. I was there with a friend. When we noticed that it was not a true vector display, we were both bewildered. What's the point?

As a QNAP user, I'm not affected. However, even if I've been unhappy with QNAP in the past sometimes (overall they're OK for me), I would never switch to Synology because of this shortsightedness on their part.

Why does it mention USB 3.2 (i.e. 20 Gbps) at all if it's for Macs? I thought Macs only support 10 Gbps and 40 Gbps, but nothing inbetween? (which is inconvenient because USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 20 Gbps external SSD cases are much cheaper than

Forwarding mail is problematic. If you forward spam, your spam score can increase and suddenly you‘re on a blacklist. Also when you pick an email provider, pick one with a good privacy policy.

Yes. If the price per kW goes up too far, guess what? More batteries. Luckily they are about to get very cheap.

With $40/kWh batteries available soon, i think even having 100 kWh of storage for a house will be rather common. With 14.4kWp solar, 5 MWh of electricity use per year and 100 kWh at 50€/kWh of battery you have 90% autarky and a ti

Perhaps as a consumer i don't want the risk of these fluctuating prices. See what happened in Texas… That said, I do have 2kWh of battery for my balcony solar (it cost only a few hundred euros and prices are coming down even further),

Decentralisation is the way to go for energy. Instead of having huge powerplants and fat power lines having a large percentage of the needed energy produced locally is ideal. Nowadays, having some solar and a battery is very affordable and

I think because providing commercial support for such a software is not allowed by the license, there is a strong vendor lock-in. That‘s a big drawback for users.
