To be fair, those tools (videos and descriptions) are directly below that paragraph. Which makes it many times clearer and more direct than the majority of the websites discussed in the article.

I think the problem is, then constructs such as yield (the behavior of which depends on the current function scope), would no longer work correctly.

That system is still there, and at the time you thought it was removed actually got some pretty nice usability and searchability upgrades. I use tags extensively to this day. They just have a slightly different appearance in the UI.

I agree that Emacs seriously suffers from "anti-Python syndrome" (or maybe a better term is just "Lisp syndrome") in that there's many ways to do a given thing and no immediately clear "best" option. Howev

Not really? It's a very different system, there's no plausible way to have a "private" downvote when the "recommendation system" here is entirely crowdsourced rather than personalized. I suppose the hide button

You may not have read any of Gwern's articles before. For many people, the quality of articles they've written in the past is high enough to give them (Gwern) quite a positive reputation. At least I'm likely to click on basic

I haven't taken an incredibly close look at this, but it seems like a pretty bad idea. Elisp is definitely not a great language, and I'd like an alternative as much as the next Emacs user. But I feel pretty strongly that any alter

Hopefully this eventually reaches the level of utility of Magit ( https://magit.vc ). It's what helped me get over the hump of only using 4 or 5 git commands, and bundles a ton of useful "macros" in a great interfac
