Regarding your first point, combining 3 API calls into one: Well, it is just one line of code on your server. But you have put the rest of the logic into the Merge/Nango server. Maybe via some point and click interface. But it is still

I'm scratching my head. Why I would want to put an API in front of an API which I want to use? So instead of requests.get( 'https://some_api/some_endpoint?some_params', headers=some_header

How can an open source company have a valuation of $1B? How do open source businesses work at all? I sometimes read about companies like these, with huge valuations and then the next day I read about some open source developer asking for do

Contrary to others here, I find the postmortem a bit lacking. The TLDR is that CF runs in multiple data centers, one went down, and the services that depend on it went down with it. The interesting question would be why those services did

I'm scratching my head how this type of post "gratifies one's intellectual curiosity". Are there other readers here, like me, who would love to see a HN that is way less mainstream?

The CSS tracker is as useful as server log-based analytics. It is not. Have you read the article? The whole point of the CSS approach is to weed out user agents which are not doing mouse hover on the body events. You can't se

That is easy to fix though. Just use a temporary salt. Pseudo code: if salt.day < today(): salt = {day: today(), salt: random()} ip_hash = sha256(ip + salt.salt)

The dangerous thing about AI regulation is that countries with fewer regulations will develop AI at a faster pace. It's a frightening thought: The countries with the least regulations will have GAI first. What will that lead to? When A

I doubt this is a business decision. Ads on Instagram and FB are not very annoying. Almost nobody will pay to get rid of them. I think it is a way to cope with the GDPR. The GDPR says you can't offer a service in return for user data.
