This has little to do with Haskell as a language, and more to do with this specific tool. Your argument is a little like saying about paying for an editor "For example, VIM can do the same thing, too, or even better...". What you

Yeah, that one stuck to me as well. I don't know if they mean anything specific with "network connections" here, cause I see a lot of apps that talk to the outside world on the MAS.

I actually use media control keys very often when playing music on my laptop, much much quicker than going into an app first. I actually like the how OS X by default uses the fn functionality, and you press fn to access f1, f2 etc.. Except

Isn't it about summer and winter time? I'm pretty sure you're still in the same timezone in those cases. That said, I don't see the reason for this PEP. You should only store a value in the DB that doesn't change li

You would probably need a good overview of the technologies in use. I can very much recommend the book "From GSM to LTE"[0]. It goes through all the networks back from GSM and up to LTE, which are needed, since all are in fact sti

Super cool project! Will definitely see if I can't get something set up at home with this. I actually recently did my own framework, in connection with my bachelor thesis on IoT and (a little bit) mobile networks, that focused a bit on

In Denmark I rarely, if ever, see water fountains. If I saw one, I would never drink from it. For me, personally, it's a sanitary issue. There also seems to be studies that link them with pathogens and bacteria, wikipedia links to some

For some reson I haven't been able to get it to another resolution than 1024x768. Anyone else having luck on this? Else I would say that it runs super well! The input lat is ~15ms, ping is ~30ms and display lat is ~30ms, reported from

Sure, some are, but I would very much say that the majority aren't ! Almost all the FP advocates I know of (although I only follow Haskell) are quite aware of both the mind change and that practicality can matter a great deal, and w

Generally it is unpleasant dealing with unpleasant people. Sometimes though, if a question has been asked many times or if people end up talking past each other, hostility can arise and the ones answering can start becoming a bit snarky. I

I feel sorry for the Greek people, but I personally favour throwing them out of the Eurozone if they default on the debt. It will be a very dangerous signal to send that you can borrow money, and not pay it back without any retribution. Thi

This is actually the reason that I prefer changing jobs instead of asking for a raise. Asking for a raise puts me in a position where I have to perform extra to be "worthy" of that raise, while it might have been that my initial s

In the rare cases I would ever downvote something, this would be the case. This is just complete snark, that misunderstands the general thesis of the article (intentionally?). Having a core language writer on your team by no means implies t

TextMate 2 actually tried to solve the stagnation problem by open-sourcing. It has worked quite well and updates became much more frequent. Still though, it doesn't feel as easy to extend as Atom or VIM.

I tried this out briefly while working on a VHDL project some time ago. I absolutely love how quick it is to run and test your code, compared to the toolings for VHDL. Also, Haskell's terse syntax is very much a plus! :)

I have not experienced this in the slightest. In fact, my OS X (always on the latest, and am now on 10.10.4) is completely stable. There might be an app or two crashing now and then, but that's not on OS X's shoulders, rather the

The author should really consider some proper way of displaying code, instead of a textbox. Also, for some reason, on safari the code is in one line, while on chrome it's in multiple lines, like it should be.
