I'm pretty sure Computer Modern was in fact designed by a designer and not "scientifically designed" whatever the heck that would mean.

Again, maybe my school was different, but you gave it to the teacher and they'd wipe it and give it back.

>due to TI banning assembly programs they did _what?!_ I recall TI-Basic programs running at a snail's pace on my TI-8whatever, without assembly nothing of any scale can be done, even numerical analysis.

I don't know, something about this feels more like an abstraction than a real thing. If you say "the speed of light is the speed limit for information" that doesn't feel like you're saying something about the way th

What is "information"? Is it a physical thing?

The important thing is that 2521 (ohgod don't hurt me) seeks out and destroys everything which contains information about itself, but only if that information is words. It doesn't destroy pictorial representations.

Allocating/deallocating memory has a cost, if you can afford to just add more memory that's faster than any clever memory management solution you have.

It's possible that they recognize that a team is necessary for execution (and if they don't realize this nothing gets done) but still think of the product as stemming wholly from them.

Many moons ago I remember talking with someone who works in HFT software and they said they'd just load the system with tons of RAM because allocation/deallocation and even manual memory management was too slow.

I don't understand why there aren't any solutions like this. Why aren't there any languages with a good garbage collector but also let you turn it off and work with memory manually. Maybe there is and I don't know of it?

Interesting. I wonder how compiler-dependent rule 10 is. Like, if I'm writing for a compiler that gives really bad and usually unhelpful warnings that make my code worse... but I suppose these are more very strict guidelines than rules

Yeah, historically men more than women have contributed more to society's intellectual progress because institutions literally didn't let women get an education.

I agree so much with that first paragraph. All these "women geniuses snubbed by 18th century sexism" are aristocrats (which makes sense because all the men geniuses are also aristocrats). The lack of discussion of people who didn&

I don't see how putting people with darker skin in art could possibly be seen as "pitting races against each other". Would the artstyle be improved if it only depicted white people?

Maybe this is a hot take, but I actually love this artstyle. I love minimalist art/clean vector art in general, and this is more of that, so I'm a big fan. I'll be sad when it stops being trendy.

Actually no, even if they face a downward sloping demand curve (which everyone does but I know what you mean) if their supply curve is perfectly horizontal (infinite elasticity) then an increase in demand would still hold price steady and s
