Isn't this the kind of application where Julia would shine? If you're trying to develop something new or cutting edge it makes sense that frameworks don't necessarily suit you. Frameworks try to make common actions easy (prov

When you've been so completely re-intermediated by the platforms you operate on, the assumption that you are an independent contractor no longer holds.

Recent research has shown that ensembles of time series models generally outperform any single method, so my recommendation would be to use both.

I've got a freestyle edge and an ergodox and they're both nice. The freestyle has a great option for tenting and a palm rest (had to 3d print one for the ergodox) and takes practically no adjustment. The ortholinear keys and thumb

Code quality as discussed in the article is more of a global property (the architecture) than a local one (syntax/implementation). Code that is bad locally can be fixed, not so much for a bad design.

In my experience doing data transformations in Tableau is almost always a mistake. It's opaque what's actually happening and you can't version control the actual operations. Instead, preprocess data into a view in your databa

Neat idea, but I'm not sure the approach of using euclidian distance on what's essentially a categorical variable is valid. Instead try a different clustering algorithm like K-prototypes [1], or Gower distance instead of euclidian

Hands-on Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn and TensorFlow [1] is more ML focused, but highly recommended. Out of the three books (Python for Data Analysis and Python Data Science Handbook) I learned the most from this one by far. [1] http

Assuming all you want to do is make some graphs, almost every alternative is better. Matplotlib is like the opengl of plotting libraries, there's almost no abstraction, you have to create plots in an imperative way and it's extrem

That sounds needlessly apocalyptic to me. If the British are lucky their financial industry will falter a little and the rest of the country will benefit from a reduction in the Dutch disease that has been plaguing their economy.

To some extent this is already happening in languages popular for machine learning. Libraries are written in C/C++ and the users just glue things together with very accessible API's.
