I don't at all understand where your confusion lies, but be assured that undecidability/noncomputability isn't "hokum". It's probably "regurgitated" in the sense that this is covered in about every &q

That's irrelevant. They have an "input tape" and an "output tape" and whatever goes on inside the LLM could in principle be implemented in a TM (of course that wouldn't be efficient but that's besides the

I'm confused by this. Why are you talking about Gödel? LLMs, like any model of computation, are subject to the limits of Turing Machines, so they cannot for example solve the halting problem.

I have no interest in debating the merits of these jingoist talking points. I merely pointed out that "DHH's opinions are just average European opinions" is wrong.

That's not all DHH is saying and I suspect that you know that. This isn't a majority position in Germany and probably not in many other European countries either: https://world.hey.com/dhh/leave-it-to-the-germ

That's not a "mathematician" thing, it's a US thing. US universities, for some reason, insist on teaching mathematics twice, once with lots of handwaving and then at some point you get to do a "proof-based course&qu

You can certainly write complex applications in Rails that go beyond CRUD. But in my experience (which may be outdated, I haven't written Rails in years), it requires a lot of discipline and going beyond what Rails itself offers. Somet

HashWithIndifferentAccess is one of these IMHO stupid design decisions of Rails that sacrifice maintainability (and consistency with Ruby, the language) just for the sake of making things slightly easier to write.

Mathematics isn't English. You don't wear the ring of integers on your finger, and you can't play football on the field of real numbers. You're the first person I ever see that pretends to be confused by what XOR means.

There's a tradeoff here too. If your codebase was started in Java 6, I dearly hope you won't continue to write code in that style anymore for new code.
