I hate to be that guy but you are vastly underestimating the challenge of formally verifying these software systems. Blockchains are highly adversarial, open source, and doing a lot of innovation. Innovation which means that nobody has ever

This DeFi stuff is playing with fire because the products being released have significantly outpaced the state of the art in building safe smart contracts. To make an analogy, imagine that instead of DeFi, we were talking about skyscrapers.

Same boat here. More often than not DDG has substantially more useful results than Google does. Sometimes Google is better though, especially when I'm looking for something specific (an article I know I read or a video I know I watched

It's similar to making a taller building. You end up supporting more weight as the structure grows in height. Diameter in this case being similar to height.

I have to say this is the most disappointed I've been with a comment section in a while. Not that the comments are awful or in bad faith, it's just not got any of the topics I was hoping to read about.

Less hassle. Plus if you are part of the community you get a better view on what tools are getting more prominent and what fixes or updates are being released. I'm sure nobody who uses Kali needs it to exist, but that doesn't mean

I would suggest having a bank or similarly regulated institution manage identity recovery. They can declare a login invalid, and they can go through the process of KYC (drivers license, SSN, in-person visit, etc) to get you a new identity.

Personally I dream of the day that we are a galaxy spanning species consuming the energy equivalent of a lifetime of our sun every couple of days. I think net energy consumption is a decent measuring stick for how advanced a society is. I&#

I think you misunderstand what a 1 of N system means here. It means out of N participants, any of them are sufficient to keep the network safe. In any system, if N out of N participants are down, you are going to have a hard time resetting.

There are obvious cases where you are improving efficiency without eliminating slack. I'm not making my application more fragile by rewriting an n^2 operation over a large dataset to an n*log(n) operation that provides the same output.

The state is likely to see this as a positive anyway. Insurance companies can bill this as a major boon to law enforcement, traffic regulation, parking violations, and of course think of the children.

Your smartphone already knows your driving habits. Mine likes to remind me where I parked my car. (It knows because I connect it to the Bluetooth music player). I honestly think regulation is the only solution here.
