This is not true! Methane is not only 84x more warming than CO2, it is at a record high at <1900ppb and rising, the current level is higher than the RCP 4.5 warming scenario by the IPCC (which is in the middle level of a warming scenario

Given the projected savannization of much of the Amazon Rainforest, and the current drought being a preview of that, I don't think it's safe to assume the staying power of it's hydro. Damming of rivers also has drammatic impa

Fixed it for you: EVs are a textbook case in falling in love with a solution, not the problem. The focus should be on producing an efficient, reliable and cost effective _public transit systems_ that are widely accessible to as many people

I'm not sure what you mean by absolute temperature level vs relative temperature. The reason that these finding are important is because 1. The climate goals set in the Paris Agreement are looking realistically more impossible by the d

It's not so simple. 1.5C was decided on after assuming 2C would be fine after (warranted) political pressure from more at risk countries. What are the risks is really more about climate sensitivity than a specific temperature, think of

I remember watching a documentary on the Salton Sea and it interviewed some residents who were holding out that eventually there was gonna be a turn around and kept buying real estate in the hope of that. I wonder how they're fairing n

I think you and the poster are in agreement. The significance is that you wouldn't need knitted gloves in Mediterranean climates. So if this was for some other use or as a novelty, you'd expect it evenly distributed throughout the

Is there enough office space demand for a building this size in Oklahoma City? Seems like a strange time to be building giant buildings for office space. It seems like the smaller buildings will have some housing, but still strange.
