Maybe providers should be obligated to open source their stack if they fail in that manner? Feels like your opening up a can of hurt if they're relying on licensed services from someone else, not like they can open source that as well.

I hope Nvidia gives us a 48GB 5090, but I can just as easily see them wanting to keep the data center divide going by keeping the consumer cards low on VRAM. Here's hoping AMD forces them to keep pushing the boundary.

I agree to some extent, though I also wouldn't be surprised if a models ability to evaluate is tied to it's ability to predict. Better predictors evaluate better. I also expect that evaluation ability doesn't grow linearly wi

If this is actually improving itself I assume it has to be bounded by it's ability to self evaluate. Starting with llama 70b makes sense for Meta, but I can't help but wonder what the results would look like if applied to Mixtral.

The Among Us fad is mostly over, though as a meme it has some serious staying power. Looking at VR Chat though, it's posting record highs in user count, hitting 52,956 over new years, with steady year over year growth for 5 years now.

I agree that there are reasonable points, that was the purpose of my comment, I thought the poster had something to offer, but am of the opinion that people won't take them seriously because of their approach. Emotion is even a valid a

Yeah, I've recently started another run of Space Ex. Currently have an isolated grid with some solar/batteries for enough boilers to kick start everything. As I scale, I'll be using a circuit network to set up a steam battery

The cutting edge of progress is going to be found in controversy, but the "boring" established fact is often correct. Non controversial people are worth listening to as well.

Exactly. The principle of free association isn't just anyone should be able to associate with those that feel the same way, it's also that people shouldn't have to with those they don't.

The complaint by the author that Meta should moderate individual users rather than simply block "loosely moderated" servers feels like an unreasonable expectation.

To be clear, Mixtral is very competitive, Mistral while certainly way better than most 7B models performs far worse than ChatGPT3.5 Turbo.

Yeah, a 7B foundation model is of course going to be worse when expected to perform on every task. But finetuning on just a few tasks? Depending on the task, it's totally reasonable to expect that a 7B model might eke out a win against

If we keep going down this route I have to wonder if we'll see something drastic in the cooling space. CPU dies are optimised towards being cooled from one side. I wonder if we'll eventually see sockets, motherboards and heat spre
