I think the problem is that using well optimised programs (Sublime text for example) on modern computers feels unbelievably fast. Using something like Teams by comparison feels like mollases.

I think this is precisely what is missing in so much of the climate communication from scientists in the space, the "so what" moment. Drawing a line in the sand is useful for policy (We should target staying under 1.5C above histo

I finally made my pilgrimage to see the Blackbird at the Smithsonian yesterday, the legendary story being the thing that first enamoured me with that incredible plane. The timing makes the trip all the more heavy. If anyone gets the chance

I've certainly heard that fans of Andrew Tate are incels, or that their world view and advice is built for incels, but I've not heard of many people calling Andrew Tate himself an incel. An incel maker though for sure.

That's pretty rough, one of the great things about the Framework was being able to treat all ports the same. Is there any explenation on why they couldn't achieve this with AMD's new chips? I'm sure they would have suppo

There's no traditional human reinforcement. Models like gpt3 get turned into models like ChatGPT through RLHF (reinforcement learning from human feedback), by fine-tuning the model further on prompts in the style we'd like them to

This is the same Pythia and Llama based models right? If so, they certainly aren't ChatGPT level in their quality. Impressive, potentially useful, but not ChatGPT. Still an incredible effort, the RLHF data here might eventually make an
