I understand what you are saying and I see the merit of having more content to a thank you post, but if it is not there is that in and of itself a warrant for a down vote? Sure you want more and more is sometimes great, but there is still

Up votes instead of 'thanks' would seem to me to remove any kind of interaction that helps foster a community. If people knew who up voted their post then that would not be a problem.

How would you ever get a statistically significant number of people to agree on anything if each person relied on those sets of statistics to assert their point?

It does make me wonder to consider what NASA finds intriguing. Exciting would be a green planet of the right size orbiting the right distance from it's sun. What could fall into intriguing but not exciting to people that for most intents

Sure, I would agree with you on that. But for the other people, the ones not included in your 'some' I believe that drugs are used as an escape. I've known plenty of people that had their nirvana moment and then continued to use for years

I've always thought that the problem with the drug war is that governments simply try to regulate the usage instead of regulating the desire. People use drugs because their lives suck. People drink because their day sucked. People use dr

You also 'win' if you give away your money and realize that you never had anything to begin with and help other people instead of lining your own pockets. You win emotional value instead of physical value.
