Thanks for the reply. I never understood the appeal of the network traffic split since it didnt come with user access control. Not everybody in a team needs access to all environments and even within an environment not everybody needs acces

Honestly as a long term customer please polish what you have. By that I mean: - Teams are still the only proper way to segment environments and access control. Yet you charge team member, I am still mad about that because even after 1+ year

The comment about Render/Railway gracefully tranferring connections seems weird? I am pretty sure it just kills the service after the new one is alive which will kill the connections. Not some fancy zero downtime reconnect.

Ideally there should even be an API for it so we can use it in other systems like slack/discord bots when people suggest improvements.

We made a similar thing too for our community discord where you can add an Emoji on a message and it will look for similar issues with a simple RAG. That saves us so much time when a user asks if a feature is planned or not. We also ask the

Lots of interesting ideas, a lot of the same methodology is used by bug bounty hunters/pentesters. It gives me some perspective to build something in my tool.

You literally don't leak memory in safe rust, that is kinda of the whole point. If you use smart pointers sure you can leak but that is not only rust, any ref counted abstraction has that. Drop IMO is preferred over defer because you c

Thankfully only a small fraction of website does JA3/JA4 fingerprinting. Some do more advanced stuff like correlating headers to the fingerprint. We have been able to get away without doing much in Caido for a long time but I am workin

Apart from syntax sugar over which I agree should be improved, the argument sells to boil down to: my language doesn't enforce a borrow checker so it is UB safe. Which in my book is just not true. The allocator example the user gives i

I am pretty sure the example 2 doesn't work because of the move and should be fixed in the next release when async closure are stabilized (I am soooo looking forward to that one).

As a rust dev I wish we had more choice of http libraries then hyper. I have a lot of respect for the author but I consider this library a hot mess of over complicated abstraction. If you tried to use hyper recently you know what I mean, ju

Product and service businesses are very very very different things. Service you get immediate cashflow but the thing doesn't scale past the humans. Software scales infinitely in theory, but it takes a lot of time to build before you ev

People say that but as someone trying to actually do that, it is freaking hard to commit to 3-5 years of virtually no salary to maybe get to the same outcome you would have had with a funded business. You need to sell a lot of 10$/mont

Maybe I am a pessimist but I really don't believe you can plan for 20y in the future especially in the tech sector. People fail to realize that we live in a world that changes not in a linear fashion but rather exponential. For all we

The problem with actor in rust is two fold and would prevent their use in this context I think: - They need async. Otherwise you need to implement yielding in house, have one actor per thread, etc. OS code is usually sync / callback ba

People seriously need to stop obsessing about RC/ARC. Just use it, it will be fine. The perf difference wont matter in 99.99% of the cases. Whole languages (Swift) are based on that.

Happy to be corrected, but from what I gathered RWLock should mostly be avoided in favour of a simple Mutex unless you have a very read-heavy usecase and even then the performances are subpar compared to mutex.

The missing piece is retainers. They are IMO the cheat code of consultants because you can stack them and they are more stable. Being "available" has a price that way too many consultants don't charge for.

Its 8$ per million query, it really is ok. The baseline of 49$ is the price of the general prisma services. For a production workload cloud based this is in the low-end and if you work on product salaries are always the number one cost.
