You're free to share a more general answer, should you have one. And I'm free to share the answer I've found, even as I'm working through the challenges of life. I've no idea what "spiritual bypassing" eve

There is joy to be found. There can be peace, in this life, even walking through the worst of times. It's found in Jesus, and the life-on-life community known as the Church. We've invented ways to turn down the volume knob on

It's not gone. It's just less common, and, at least in my experience, hidden inside churches where people are open about this sort of thing, and where, in a lot of them, miscarriages are treated as much the same thing, to be grie

And this is why I hate AI so strongly (I... debated several less charitable wordings of this opening). I read, because I want to know what people think. What people thought, decades, centuries ago. Writing, and reading, are about the

There are so many things that hit differently with age and stage of life. I really liked What Dreams May Come back in high school. Dante's Inferno, kind of, trip to Hell, Robin Williams, trippy paint scene. I watched it again as a mar

Good. I'm onboard with that. They're human-toxic systems that optimize "hours on screen" over literally anything else that might be good for people.

On a topic that is emotionally loaded, personal, and increasingly political? I question if having provided a few links would change anyone's opinion, yes. I started out planning to add a pile of them, but it's hard to find anythi

There's a built in process to revise it that has been used repeatedly throughout the USA's history. Just don't assume that process would always go the way you'd prefer, different people have different opinions. Though t

Were I to spend half an hour providing a set of links, would it actually change anyone's opinion on the matter? It seems to be the sort of viewpoint that isn't easily changed by a few research papers.

I assume if you mention US political party names on HN, you get a pile of downvotes immediately, valid point or not. I'm not aware they're trying to make it actively illegal, though. Just at least marginally age gated to adults,

I'm not sure I'd agree reading a book is isolating. At a minimum, you can (assuming a human author...) "get inside the author's brain." Some books are better at this than others, certainly. But even without that,

Indeed, Whonix "just works" in Qubes! Disposable Workstation VM without Javascript enabled makes a lot of the internet quite nice. Also, makes a lot of it literally unusable. Oh well.
