I think ATM fees are unrelated to the card type. My Danish bank imposed a fee on using an ATM from another bank, until my income was high enough to make me a "premium" customer, then these fees were removed. The card didn't c

The problem is finding a well-located user of the waste heat. Homes and offices are great in colder countries. Some industry can use it, but the examples I can think of (food/drink, heat for drying paint, making paper, some chemical&#

The symbols used in Europe are ears. (Not on cars but in general.) I doubt the deaf people care, though I also don't doubt at all that some virtue signallers are highly offended on their behalf.

I think what stands out is that American 7/11s sell particularly low quality food. Americans focus on Japan, but they could make the same comparison with many other countries. Maybe because it's OK to be worse than Japan (it

The European signs also fare better in snow, very heavy rain or if they're really dirty, since the shape (and maybe some colour) is still visible.

We complain about bad symbols, or symbols introduced without any explanation or time to learn them. The symbols on a European car (TBH I've never noticed the difference in a hired American car) don't have this problem. They refer

Yeah, these are not good symbols, except the help mark. None of them have any meaning, they must simply be learned. I recognize some of them, from seeing them in Japan, but I thought they meant some kind of taxi. A symbolic ear would be bet

People have seen the symbols since childhood, and as far as I know in every European country it's necessary to pass the exam on knowing what they mean before starting practical driving lessons.

A supermarket with over 3000 (5000 depending where I search) stores probably doesn't want everything in the cloud. They will want every shop to be at least mostly-capable of operating without an internet connection.

If you insist on that approach, then for the sake of argument, you could pretend the discussion is about Australia which already has a similar law. You could argue the benefit to children in repealing it.

In a factory, where you can guarantee a hard, smooth floor, I would think wheels are better in most cases than four feet. But of course the wheels could be replaced with feet where that's needed.

They have over 3000 stores. Maybe each one has a handful of VMs. Maybe each self-service checkout runs a VM, or each staffed checkout. They wouldn't want to rely entirely on a remote database to be able to sell products.

The ones being discussed in the UK are in the triangular box like that, but there's so much competition between the shops that they're ok. It's also a dense enough country that they will be at most a day or two old.
