The USA pushes its culture in movies etc. American school buses are sometimes featured. The only other school transport I've seen in a film is the Hogwarts Express.

In most other countries, the accessibility and features is the other way around: the normal city bus can serve as a school bus if required. That also means the children don't need to clamber up steps etc. Though it's a long time s

Lots of large files, I think most would have been over 50MB. There was a folder of smaller files to move, around a million files each less than 100kB. That took longer, but not long enough that I bothered to try and speed it up.

That's unfortunate. We generally assume pretty much all of the Americans we meet in Europe vote Democrat, with the theory that Republicans can't find Europe on a map and wouldn't want to go there if they could. It's pres

This Global Anti-Scam Alliance website [1] says Americans, Danes and Swiss have the highest average scam amount, at $3520, $3067 and $2980. But it also says Pakistan lost 4.2% of GDP to scams, vs 0.2% for Italy, Netherlands and France. It l

I knew that, and know most of the colours, but it's only now that I realise plugs on VGA cables are blue to match, plugs on DVI cables are white to match, and even my cheap USB-to-serial adapter has a teal RS232 plug.

Apparently even the first generation Oyster cards should work [1] so at some point I was also misinformed. On Trip Advisor some people say cards can become deactivated if not used for years, but staff in a ticket office can reactivate them.
