Because they are not the same company. They were specifically kept as separate companies and the deal at the time would have probably been stopped by law enforcement, if it wouldn't have been this way.

Right, but there isn't going to be an official announcement, unless a hundred thousand people jump to premature conclusions and bring out their pitchforks. I agree that it's not terribly smart to draw a conclusion at this point in

Because increasing its importance could be seen as tampering with the results for their own benefit, i.e. pushing a web-technology that they control. Adding a flag to it is sort of the same, but I'm guessing they are testing the waters

Why should it search for it rather than try to connect to it? It's a valid address. And ".web" is an assigned Top-Level Domain as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.web

I'm pretty sure that Microsoft actually does not have a QA department. I can't seem to find a source which confirms specifically that, but after Nadella took over in 2014, he cut a bunch of jobs, which were mostly jobs from the No

F6 focuses the address bar, so that's slightly different, although obviously a lot of people also just use the address bar to search. And Ctrl+L is then again the alternative to F6.

Then what's different about this to only developing in Firefox and afterwards testing in the other browser?

At least, it sort of makes sense to do inside a browser, as you don't need to load in an entire web browser as a library. Also just in general, the long-term plan for Firefox is to phase out XUL and to replace it with HTML/CSS

Also just in general, people understand what a camera does. It's much harder to understand the implications of abstract "data" going off onto the internet.

That's what typically happens for people who have no grasp of data. They understand what a camera is, that it takes pictures and that they don't want something to be able to take pictures of them at any given time. They do not und

Yeah, Evernote being bloated was also the reason for me to stop using it. I wanted to take a few notes here and there, not document my entire life in all available forms of media. I can't believe that they are still adding even more th

Yeah, I've seen multiple great YouTube-apps die because of that. The best-functioning YouTube-app that I currently know, actually scrapes the webpage to get its information. It can't do subscriptions because of that, but I can eas

I also just find that a lot of the implementation of the comments is horrible. For one, that it's somehow and for whatever reason linked together with Google+. Far too often, I have to read through a sea of +-syntax, which makes no sen

The biggest UI flaw for me is the picture view on the mobile Twitter-page. They decided to replace the normal .jpg-link with a custom page, but this custom page is auto-fitted to the screen-width, meaning that you cannot actually zoom in on
