Fun fact: dmenu was also ported to macOS. Unfortunately it doesn’t work very well yet but still, it’s pretty cool!

It worked for me. Heres what I did. 1. Login and go to the Youtube homepage 2. Scroll down and click "Not Interested" on every video you don't want recommended anymore. 3. Keep scrolling until you hit the bottom (there _is_ a

I used YouTube's "Not Interested" button to filter out political content at the end of 2020 so I haven't noticed that. But I have noticed over the last week, more 'contrarian' content. I watched a few videos on

FWIW, I’ve been using the Orion beta on my Mac and it’s great. It’s a WebKit based browser with a built in ad blocker and tree style tabs and can run most Firefox and chrome extensions while having lower resource usage and better battery li

Have you not noticed the rabid Linux fan base on HN? It seems like every discussion about Macs or macOS has at least 2-3 comments about how someone had used macOS for years, then got sick of apples (intel) hardware or lack of software custo

I generally agree, but I think you might underestimate how many customers _globally_ are very price sensitive. I have relatives overseas and a price difference of ~$40 is pretty sizable over there. Apple devices are seen as quite a luxury t

I’ve always wanted to run a small pi box as a router with pfsense. Right now my only other option for a small all in one, low power pfsense box is maybe an Intel NUC?

I suppose it depends on your media habits. If you want a large media library then it's absolutely worth it. I started by manually downloading and configuring media, but after a certain point it just became easier to let the computer ha

I have a real split opinion on Unraid. On the one hand, It's probably one of the most versatile pieces of software that I've ever used. I use it in "production" at home and its filling half a dozen use cases for me. The

This depends a lot on your workflow. I really like some of the features offered by yabai that depend on disabling SIP and installing the Scripting Addition. You can totally use Yabai without this though. The biggest issue I have is that by
