If you get any kind of traction please start competing with Check-a-trade they're absolute hell for the consumer and I imagine not amazing for the contractors either. You'd be in a pretty good position for this given the view you&

Banks likes twists. The Culture is his attempt at writing a viable techno utopia. Every other book has a more pro-culture viewpoint. But if you're after 'good guys' and 'bad guys' Banks might not really be for you.

"The Internet" isn't to blame. The problem is advert funded media & technology and the 'free market' of eyeballs. Competitive markets; our greatest engine of innovation and creation are racing to discover our bi

America has a huge economy & relatively few legislators. The return on investment for corruption in America is _huge_ compared with other democratic countries. I do think the FPTP system in the US and UK concentrates power. And that mak

I briefly looked at this a while ago. The short answer is no, space mirrors (or lenses which focus light away and need less fuel to maintain position) are not a viable solution launched from earth. We'd be better off reducing emissions

Corporations are obviously far more than just an association of people. There are huge tomes of legislation that define them, give them extra powers & limit their actions: Limited Liability, Tax codes, Health and Safety, Child Labour, E

It depends who's paying. If the product seller pays then it's an advert. If the product buyer pays it's not. The difference in economic incentives is... stark. Ad supported media has a similarly skewed structure. If I'm

My idea for this is that we should nationalise advertising & product discovery. Over consumption is killing the planet, processed foods are destroying our health, user engagement hacking is eroding free will. Powerful companies like HSB

My view is we should be aiming for _competitive_ markets or perfect markets. Markets which approach as near as possible perfect competition[1]. It's obviously impossible to realize in reality. However, it's instructive that we get

Having just read the readme I think this is perhaps missing two layers to model human behavioural 'evolution'. It's a super cool project though despite that and I wonder if you could extend it to put the two missing layers in
