I recently transitioned from OSX to elementary OS (an ubuntu-based distro). For me it's the best compromise. I can't really stand Windows, I've tried for years to get comfortable with it, but I've always found it full of

The problem with IRC is that it now lacks some features that prevent its adoption from a wider userbase. Outside of our tech circle, there's not many people who wouldn't be turned off by having to register an account by typing cus

The controls feel frustrating to me, perhaps the mouse would be more fitting to this kind of gameplay.

I use an Asus N550JK. It's got good performance and handles Linux well, except for Optimus support which is still not great. I used to own a MacBook Pro, but had bad experiences with hardware failures and Apple sweeping such defects un

I didn't realize Pocket was a third-party service. Perhaps this should be made clear when updating Firefox.

In my opinion part of the reason why Haxe still hasn't got much support outside of game development is an easy, cross-platform way to do native UI. It's definitely something that's needed for it to be a good solution for buil

In my opinion pen and paper are fundamental. Not just in design, but also in programming. There's a lot to be gained by just thinking over and sketching ideas for something rather than just diving into action.

I've been thinking about buying a Raspberry Pi 2 to run Gitlab on it. Do you think it is feasible or will the performance be too bad for normal use? I'll be hosting about 2-3 repos with 4 users on it.

Have you thought about buying a Braille display? One of my university colleagues uses it along with audio output.

I don't think the fact that elementary OS builds upon Ubuntu (and others upstream projects) has any relevance to whether or not one should pay for elementary OS. Those upstream developers have each made a decision regarding their licen

If I'm not mistaken you're using the original Minecraft's textures. I would suggest switching to something that isn't copyrighted by Mojang to avoid issues.
