You don't know how much time you have less though. You could last 30 minutes on the home screen or you could go flat instantly when you load a 60fps video.

On the other hand, you knew these restrictions before purchasing it and still continued with the transaction. I understand both perspectives here but I don't think one is objectively right.

This would be huge because Safari is missing so many APIs and leaves users on an unusable browser when they stop getting OS updates.

Do people really use OSM for POI data on any meaningful scale? I tried really hard to use OSM but all the apps were really bad. OSMAnd seemed like the best one but it was super slow rendering on my phone while everything else was snappy. Th

Leaflet JS is a generic library that works with mapbox and other tileserver apis. So yes you actually could do this trivially right now. The API to tileservers is trivial, you provide a URL template and request the tile with the x/y&#x

You aren't buying a phone when you buy the librem 5. You are funding the development of open source phones so there will eventually be a v2 and v3 which are better value for money when the hard work was done in v1.

Real color eink is a hack too. Its multiple colors with the same magnetic polarity but in different sizes and the display is able to pulse the fields to select the color but its super slow and the colors can blend together a bit. All of the

16 second refresh is a complete nonstarter for a note taking device. Its only good enough for a desk calendar screen. I'm not sure how much more can be done since these color e paper displays are basically a hack which doesn't sca

Just saying on the website or somewhere else officially that being able to ssh in is a feature and not something they just left there and may remove later would make the device a lot more attractive.

My school had a policy of no chargers at school due to safety regulations (Fires/tripping) so the macbook air made an excellent choice.

The problem with multi day battery life is you never get in to a routine and you get caught out every time. I had a pebble watch which had a 10 day battery life and almost every 10th day it would go flat on me mid day or I'd get a warn

The macbook air is probably the worst machine you can think of for gaming. Even without the M1 you won't have a great time. Its the perfect machine for students because it can last all day in a browser and word.
