It is important to note that the author worked on a iOS only app. If he was working on one, his devision would most porbably have been the opposite, or at least more nuanced. Still, I think he made the right decision.

Hm, actually he talked much and didn't say anything. After this presentation it could be a simple Phonegap container, some native plugins and the feed and stuff in a web view. Guess I have to go poke around myself.

Looking at things like the Doctype class is not the best way to evaluate a framework. How often do you set a doctype? Once. And seeing how many site have a broken doctype because the developers tried to be smart... probably not the worst id
