Without Spacemacs having me brought to the Emacs worlds, I would have never discovered magit. Nowadays I am soo tied to it that I even have a `magit` script that can be called from anywhere: #!/usr/bin/env bash emacscl

Sometimes I do not even read the article at all. Either I read a few comments, and if it seems interesting I go to read the article. And sometime I just read all the comments without even putting an eye on the article. So yes, I strongly ag

I set it to `on`. I read somewhere on internet an argument why `fixed` is not really necessary: for setting it back to `off` you need the admin PIN, and you have only 3 tries (by default) for the password. So I am not really worried about s

If you do not want to need 10 different RPIs for running 10 different functionalities (Pi-hole, RetroPie, remote access, cloud, side-projects, air quality monitoring, etc.), docker is a good solution to easily deploy several services on a s

This is something people with aphantasia like me will never be able to do. But I would love to have this kind of visual thinking once in my life, just for the experience. This seems to offer a lot for problem solving skills :)

In short 40 is already crazy too many digits for most if not all applications. Yet in the original article they say «Granted, most scientific applications don’t need π beyond a few hundred digits, …». Is there scientific applications where

I wanted to comment the same part, but I wanted to let them the benefit of the doubt, so I went to Wikipedia «date format by country» page [1], and summed up from the table how many people have "MD" vs "DM" in their date

You can use Yalp Store [1]. It allows to search and filter Google Play Store apps based on (i) Apps with ads, (ii) Paid apps and (iii) Apps using GSF. Another reflex is to look on the F-Droid Store if an equivalent FOSS application exists b

I have only one friend who signed it, my only friend nerdy enough to use GPG. For most of my usages (SSH, password manager, personal encryption) there is no need of a WOT. For the git commits signature, I have put my public key on Github so

Yes. Nobody asked me to do so, but all my setup (SSH auth, encryption, password manager, mail signatures) is build around GPG, so it was easy to add the signing in my git config. I use a RSA8192 key as master key so it can last for a while.

Not exactly related to this e-voting system, but more generally there will probably be a federal popular initiative for a moratorium on e-voting in Switzerland [1,2]. It is possible (for Swiss citizens) to support the collection of signatur

I think this behavior will only be working starting from Python 3.6, as the dictionary obtained by calling `dict.fromkeys()` before this would not keep the ordering [1] [1] https://youtu.be/p33CVV29OG8?t=489
