So umm, the engineers behind the Fire phone are now going to waltz in and fix Google Glass? That's like making a Rock supergroup out of the members of Krokus and Winger.

They have the same policy everyone does: don't take them too seriously. As a mostly happy iphone user I can say there's some decent trolling in here, have a laugh and enjoy, I think the sky will still be there tomorrow!

I claim no special skill or insight into economics, I'm just tagging these posts so people don't mistakenly think that what is presented is mainstream economic theory. Based on our experience in the last decade, as a first order a

Any mention of the Fed on HN seems to come with a generous helping of heterodox complaints about QE. I'll just point out that despite throwing everything at the wall for 6+ years they are all still batting zero.

I believe "rape!" is nearly as bad as it's still just charged invective. A more neutral construction would be something like, 'leading to an increase in <crimes>' and I would have no objection to that.

'Rape town!' is not normal level headed discussion on the subject. If you want serious debate I'd suggest you can start by not defending the comment that's clearly overstepped the boundary on what constitutes serious deb

Every time it seems like HN is making a little bit of progress you click on a link and find out they've upvoted something like 'Rape Town!' to the top of a thread.

Look if you want to move the goalposts ("killed zero" -> "rounding error") and admit your earlier claims overreached and were wrong I'm fine with that. I'm very much pro-nuclear power and while I don't

First, "found no evidence" is in no way a conclusion that no one will die from aftereffects of Fukushima. If you actually click through to wiki's citation you'll see that the study repeatedly cops out and says "more

While the larger conclusion about safety being made here are correct, the blanket claims about Fukushima's death toll <5 years after the event strike me as disingenuous.

May not be making claims but the author surely abuses confusion of an ostentatious material and the color named after it, although Apple has done the same by introducing a watch made of the material and a phone of the color on the same day.
